So this site has mostly been used for roleplaying and roleplaying communities, but I want to feel like it's 1999 again and write in here like a personal journal. I'm almost tempted to get a LiveJournal again, too, but alas. I think it's still mostly Russian bots. Does anyone even legit use LJ these days?

Maybe I'll even share my silly writings and OCs when I get the chance. And when I am not dying from Externship in my vet med studies.

Tiktok might go away once they push out M2 or whatever it will be called. (I sure won't be there. I refuse to move and accept my fate once a ban gets implemented.) Twitter fandom spaces can be tiring to be around, but Tumblr is decent if you post your fanfic or art, leave, and don't post again until you have new content. (Then again. Posting content and logging off is the way to go to keep your peace in social media, in general.)

I'm about to create a website and share my content to avoid dealing with censorship, whiny fandom spaces, and the like. But that means learning how to code again. Sad when I used to be so savvy with coding for Myspace, Plurk, and custom Tumblr and Dreamwidth layouts. But we can do it!

Anywho. First entry to test the look out, mostly. Back to academic papers to write.

I'm here for the same reason, that LiveJournal nostalgia itch, ended up here because, upon navigating to LiveJournal and seeing it default to Russian, I immediately looked elsewhere. Anyway. Welcome.

Hello!

That's a great idea. You might find some inspiration in recurring posts.

I do, although it's mostly an echo from my DW. I do still use it for posting the open epics because LJ editing is easier.

That sounds like fun.

Some sites like DW give you lots of control over privacy and moderation. If you only want to post, you can turn off comments.

Go you!

>> But that means learning how to code again. <<

Check out the Fujoshi Guide. I backed it even though I can't code, because I want people to have the skills for building their own websites.

>> Oh my gosh! I'm gonna come back to this comment every time I forget something. Thank you so much. Really! ^_^ The resources helped me gain an idea of what to do next. (Just gonna bookmark these links...) And know where to start. <<

[community profile] newcomers has lots of information on how to use DW.

[community profile] followfriday, [site community profile] dw_community_promo, and the Master List are good places to find other communities you might like.

>> Coming to Dreamwidth is part of the reason why I might post more here than anywhere else. I love the control over who can comment and the privacy settings. Thank you for reminding me.<<

I'm happy I could help.

You can set privacy by journal or by individual posts. You can also make filters if you want to create separate audiences for different topics. I don't bother because I only post about things that are meant to be open, but it's nice to have the options.

I used to do a lot of rp on dreamwidth, but using it for personal/fannish journaling has been really fun for me!

And ooh, I'd love to hear about your OCs if you share anything! I've always been interested in people's original characters, and then I got into making my own this year, for the first time since I was little-- It's made me enjoy hearing about others' even more!

Ah yeah, the great rp exodus, I was around for that too! I do a bit of one-on-one stuff still, too, but alas, yeah... Games take up a lot of time that I just do not really have to spend on rp! Plus, I think I just kinda burnt out on it after a point.

Aw, thank you! Mine are own (or well, shared with my spouse, actually!) world-OCs, and I've posted a bit about their setting's lore and origins already... Eventually I will post about the actual characters!! One of these days!!

I've actually never made Pokemon setting OCs, but it's something I'm very interested in whenever I see those others have created!

Yo, welcome to DW! I never got to experience the livejournal/blogger era, so here I am to get a kick out of it. We ain't got a lot in common and my journal will surely sound like a mess soon enough, but hey, I figured I'd show some love and wish you best of luck!

Cheers~
