I'll image dump my Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream shenanigans on here at some point. Just gathering the photos slowly but surely out of my switch.
But I do love this game so much. Only with Tomodachi Life would you be able to say things like "Miku broke up with Markiplier and now has a crush on Shrek. But Shrek is dating Cloud from Final Fantasy 7".
(Using this icon reminding me to make Yuri and Viktor miis for my island. Since it's the only continuation I'm ever gonna get since MAPPA cancelled their production of the Yuri on Ice movie. Ending a series for good, it seems. MAPPA, I will fly to Japan to beat your ass and never forgive you for that.).

Date: 2026-05-03 10:15 am (UTC)Tomodachi Life was one of my favorite games on the 3DS, and I've been loving the Switch sequel. I've seen the game referred to as a fanfic simulator, and I love that way of describing it, but I think crackship simulator is an even more fitting way to put it. I don't even play it super silly - I mean, the game is inherently super silly, but I've watched streamers go absolutely out there while making miis and using the drawing option, just so much memetic stuff. And while that's not my style of play, it's a lot of fun to watch! And then, in my own playing, I love when my miis (who are mostly fandom characters and pokemon gajinkas, with some of my D&D characters, OCs, and my spouse and I thrown in the mix) end up in the weirdest relationships... Like, I've got a Disney Princess (Rapunzel, specifically) and an Oddish as wives on my island. It's fantastic.
